Today I am in Franschoek at the Boschendal Wine Estate enjoying a delicious picnic. What a view! After a run from the parking slots at the Lions Head I have made a call and tried my luck to book a picnic for the same day and after few tries I managed to do the booking. The trip at the winery took us 1:30 minutes from the Waterfront to Boschendal.

As soon as we got there we went to Rhone Picnic as they offer to types of picnic: Rhones picnics with full service, no wine included (R440 basket for two and R 240 basket for one person) and the basket is containing: roast aubergine and herb pâté, smoked angelfish pâté, chicken liver parfait and onion jam, crisp loaf of country bread, seasonal salad, classic Coronation chicken, a selection of three meats, wholegrain mustard, a selection of artisan cheese and vanilla strawberry cheesecake. The vegetarian option includes a hummus pâté and a garden vegetarian. The other option Wherf Garden Picnic (R 395 basket for two and R 210 basket for one) a bit more casual affair under the trees on the Pavilion lawn, where you can chill out in hammocks, flop in a bean bag or grab a blanket to find the perfect spot. Child-friendly with a jungle gym and acres of garden to play in.

We have order a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc-Pavilion Blanc for what we have paid R 85. I strongly recommend you the wine if you like something fresh and a bit citrus. Please visit boschendal.com for more info.

There were many big families with kids and young couples enjoying the picnic or just having a glass of wine and admiring the fairytale view of the winery.

Now being home after a long day I admire the photos and I feel so grateful to have the chance to see such beautiful places! Dear visitors, I plan to visit more stunning places from Cape Town and share with you my adventure. Keep close and be happy!
